Surface Preparation - Waterproofing

The Waterproofing surface you are working with may have to be treated differently depending on its current state.

Tanks, parapets and flashing

For optimal results on waterproofing surfaces such as tanks, parapets and flashing state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.

Preparation
  1. Remove all dirt and grime and loose flaking particles. Remove any existing material such as bitumen, damp seal etc. If practical hose down the area and clean thoroughly
  2. Allow to dry
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Ultra-BondFirst
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultralast product of choice
Products that can be used
Repairing extensive cracking and leaks in dams, parapets flashing

For optimal results on a waterproofing surface in a repairing extensive cracking and leaks in dams, parapets flashing state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.

Preparation
  1. Remove all dirt and grime and loose flaking particles. Remove any existing material such as butimun, Damp seal etc. If practical hose down the area and clean thoroughly
  2. Allow to dry
Application
  1. Fill the crack with exterior filler and sealer (in place of water) and allow to dry
  2. Prime entire surface with Sealer. Embedded membrane in sealer to be sealed and work through with a still brush expelling any air bubbles
  3. Allow to dry
  4. Apply 2 coats of Ultralast product of choice
  5. A mixture or river sand and sealer can also be used for bigger cracks

Concrete roofs

Preparation
  1. Remove all dirt and grime and loose flaking particles. Remove any existing material such as butimun, Damp seal etc. If practical hose down the area and clean thoroughly
  2. Allow to dry
Application
  1. Apply 1 generous coat Ultra-BondFirst
  2. Apply 1 coat Clear Guard.(generous)
  3. Apply 1 Coat Sealer
  4. Apply 2 coats of Ultralast product of choice
