Surface Preparation - Concrete
The Concrete surface you are working with may have to be treated differently depending on its current state.
For optimal results on a Concrete surface in a New\unpainted state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.
- Preparation

- Remove all loose sand aggregate with brooms
- Rinse with clean water
- Application

- Apply 1 coat Ultra-BondFirst
- Apply 2 - 3 coats of Ultralast product of choice
- Products that can be used

- Preparation

- Wash floors with G.P. Cleaner
- Rinse well with clean water
- Application

- Apply 1 coat Ultra-BondFirst
- Apply 2 - 3 coats of Ultralast product of choice
- Allow 2 hours between coats

For optimal results on a Concrete surface in a Previously painted And sound state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.
- Preparation

- Wash with G.P. Cleaner
- Rinse with clean water
- Sand floor with 100 grid paper to provide a better key
- Remove all dust
- Application

- Apply 1 coat Ultra-BondFirst
- Apply 2 - 3 coats of Ultralast product of choice
- Products that can be used
For optimal results on a Concrete surface in a Previously painted and in poor condition (flaking / peeling / oil soaked) state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.
- Preparation

- Remove old paint by mechanical grinding
- Strip existing paint with paint remover
- Scrub floor with 15% solution of spirit of Salts
- Rinse with clean water
- Wash floors with general purpose cleaner. Rinse with clean water
- Oil Soaked

- As above process
- After rinsing with clean water, apply an emulsifier (as per product instructions) accross entire surface
- Use a wet and dry vacuum to extract any oil and emulsifier from floor surface
- Repeat if necessary
- Application

- Apply 1 coat Ultra-BondFirst (2 coats if previously oil soaked)
- Apply 2 - 3 coats of Ultralast product of choice
- Note - Oil soaked floors must be thoroughly cleaned prior to applying the Ultra-BondFirst. Adhesion is totally dependant on the how well you have cleaned!
